Sepahan’s lead reduced in Iran
Sepahan’s lead was reduced to four points in the Iran Pro League when the AFC Champions League Group C hopefuls were held 1-1 by Teraktorsazi in the 28th round on Saturday. According to IRIFF official website report, Farhad Kheirkhah put the hosts ahead four minutes into the match with a long-range shot but Ibrahima Toure levelled the scores for the leaders six minutes later. Sepahan, who will host UAE’s Al Ain on Tuesday in the continental encounter, are on 56 points while Zob Ahan, who defeated Shahin 1-0, are second with 52 points, three more than Persepolis. Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Farimani scored the all-important goal for Zob Ahan in the stoppage time while Persepolis edged past Foolad 1-0, thanks to a goal from Mohsen Khalili in the 72nd minute. In other matches, Steel Azin overcame Saipa 4-3, Saba Battery lost to Rah Ahan 1-0, Mes were held goalless by Moghavemat, Pas drew 2-2 with Peykan, Abu Moslem downed Malavan 2-1 and Esteghlal Ahvaz lost to defending champions Esteghlal 2-0.
