Chelsea thrashes West Ham United

Chelsea defeated West Ham United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League at least until Sunday when holders take on Fulham.

Londoners stand on top with 64 points from 29 games in a close battle with champions Manchester United that has 63.

Alex and Florent Malouda scored once and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba scored twice to cancel West Ham's Scott Parker first-half goal.

United, which will host Fulham on Sunday, can regain the lead with at least a draw.

Arsenal can also reach 64 points with a victory at Hull City later on Saturday.

In other matches, Tottenham beat Blackburn 3-1, Birmingham and Everton drew 2-2, Stoke and Aston Villa finished 0-0, Wolves won 2-1 at Burnley and Bolton defeated Wigan 4-0.
