The owner of Steel Azin club Hossein Hedayati participated in a phone conversation with Adel Ferdowsi pour in 90 program. He stated at the beginning of this conversation that he has joined to football just to serve Iranian youth and as a football team belongs to private sector they have done what they could even though the result of the team is so far not as good as it should be.
He told Ferdowsi pour that in the beginning of the league 90 program held a poll which showed out that 67% of Iranians believe that Steel Azin has brought good players to its staff but it is the beauty of football that forced our team not to reach to a highest places in the league table and stand at the bottom of it.
Hedayati said: Despite the humors we have paid for signing with the players as same as those teams which belongs to public sectors and spend from the public budget. It is not true that all our players have signed 600 or 700 million Tomans contract; we do have players who received around 130 million Tomans.
He also answered to Ferdowsi pour comment about the mismanagement of the team and its impact on the results of the team by saying: even though the club has just one owner but none of its decisions have been made solely. All of the board of director members participate in decision making progress. If we want to find out the elements of the causes which have led us toward these results we should not focus only on the players and the technical team, we all have made faults. But fortunately we have worked on our weakness points and promise that we get better results.
Hedayati continued: Those who wait to see Steel Azin’s losses must know that another team will replace it which spends from the public budget and this is not in beneficial of the private sector that would like to serve Iran’s football. That’s why I believe that all the responsible and managers of football must support the one and only team in (IPL) which aims to help and serve youth.
He also expressed his sadness toward the harsh critics that the head coach of Steel Azin received after he said that the referee of Steghlal-SteelAzin match did not count a penalty for them, which by the way appeared to be a true penalty in 90 program. Regarding to this matter Hedayati said: Khakpour is one of the best coaches and follows the morals strictly but the critics that he received right after the match showed that Steel Azin has lots of enemies which really hate it. I am certain that all the players will do their best to win more games and get rid of this situation.
He also stressed that joining the football business did not have any special benefits for him and declared that he did not get any loan or other kind of money from banks or other financial institutions.
Hedaya ti mentioned that the government and municipalities in all around the world maintain the stadiums and fields but unfortunately in Tehran there are so many good stadiums like Takhti stadium which belongs to Youth and Sport Organization but stay useless and in contrary we have to pay over than 600 million Tomans to rent a field to practice.
At the end of this conversation Hossein Hedayati denied all the humors about the argument between Ali Karimi and the club and explained: Karimi went to the U.A.E without notifying the coaches so we asked him to come to discuss about these kind of matters and when he came to me he told me that he has an offer to play for Schalke club in Bundes Liga. Even though I did not want him to leave but I agreed with that and allowed him to leave our team, but we absolutely did not fire this great player.
